Banks Law is proud to announce the selection of founding partner Halmon “Sonny” Banks as Best Lawyers® 2014 Philadelphia Workers’ Compensation Law – Claimants “Lawyer of the Year”.

The selection was made through a peer-review process designed to capture the consensus opinion of leading lawyers about the professional abilities of their colleagues within the same geographical and legal practice areas. Only a single lawyer in each practice area in each community is being honored as “Lawyer of the Year”.

Mr. Banks has over 26 years of experience handling Pennsylvania workers’ compensation cases. He served as Chair of the Workers’ Compensation Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. In 2008, he was awarded the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Workers’ Compensation Section’s Martha J. Hampton Award. This award is presented to the workers’ compensation attorney or judge who best exemplifies a commitment to the profession while maintaining a unique and close relationship with members of the bar and bench, as well as exemplary compassion, dedication and professionalism. Earlier this year, Mr. Banks was among the first group of attorneys in Pennsylvania to be certified as a workers’ compensation specialist by the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Section on Workers’ Compensation Law as authorized by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.

Halmon Banks and the entire firm of Banks Law would like to thank Best Lawyers® and the Philadelphia legal community for their recognition and support in this selection. It is an honor to be selected and we look forward to serving the needs of injured workers and validating this selection.
